Abstract Many complex systems exhibit self-organizing criticality (SOC). In fact, there is a consensus that the Earth’s crust SOC system. The Olami, Feder and Christensen (OFC) spring-block model non-conservative used successfully to simulate dynamics of seismic faults. this system coupled differential equations representing mapped cellular automaton. work we include idea asperity, which an important concept in real seismicity, by varying distribution network. Considering life seismicity faults are composed different elements, it necessary have with these characteristics. We were able reproduce Gutenberg-Richter behavior (previously obtained classic OFC model) non-homogenous distribution.

We introduce a stochastic discrete automaton model to simulate freeway traffic. Monte-Carlo simulations of the model show a transition from laminar traffic flow to start-stopwaves with increasing vehicle density, as is observed in real freeway traffic.
